Mysteriously, the light in the goat house has not been coming on at night. Yesterday I found it unplugged and thought I must have done it accidentally. There was no way the goats could have done it. The light is up high, over the feed trough. Hmmmm…
So, this morning I headed down to feed the chickens and check on the goats. It’s dark and raining so they should be inside. I can see Aidan and Banning, but where is Donovan? As I get a little farther down the hill I think I see him. I have my Kodak with me so I snap this pic.
With a little forensic photo manipulation, the whole sinister plot is revealed.
Donovan is unplugging the light, with Aidan as the lookout! He has managed to climb INTO the feeder, stand on the edge and reach the light.
So, I scolded them both, gave them a broccoli plant to munch on and headed back to the house.
I made some coffee and checked my email, then decided to go back down and check in on the goats again. WHAT? And this time Banning is in on the cover-up.
Clearly, Donovan is unplugging the light. But he shakes his head “no” when I asked him!
So Michael spent his day hardwiring a new barn light.
I spent my day moving the feeder to the other side of the barn and covering the walls with plywood. (Note the chewed up walls in the above pics.)
They’re goats. I wonder what trouble they’ll get into tomorrow? Stay tuned.
