When we lived on the edge of the American River Canyon in Folsom, CA we had frequent turkey visits. During mating season they would parade up the street, tails feathers spread and wings dragging the pavement. We could hear them coming.
The males would assemble in the cul-de-sac and put on a show for the females. Think Chippendales with feathers.
I have missed the turkey shows since we moved, but efforts are underway to raise our own. Notice the litte Romeo in this video. He’s our best hope.
