Our granddaughter Emily lost a friend, Alyssa Harding, who passed away during knee surgery on Friday. Emily has known Alyssa since middle school and were freshman this year at Casa Roble High School. Please keep Alyssa and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
Rest in peace Alyssa.
Love,
Emily

The funeral service was today. It was a nice service with so many in her favorite color pink. There were even guys there who tried to die their hair pink in her memory. But when you have dark hair temp hair die only turns your scalp pink. But the thought was nice. It was heart breaking to see so many young teens at the microphone telling their favoite memory of such a young girl. It was very clear this was a young girl who touched the lives of everyone around her. She was a young girl who made an impact on many lives and will stay in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Rest in Peace Alyssa you will be missed.
Oh, sweetie, you and everyone that is hurting for Alyssa are in my prayers. It doesn’t feel like it should have happened, but God has a plan for Alyssa. He needed her with him for reasons that we cannot understand, but one day we will see it, and you will be so happy that your Alyssa was part of it. Keep Alyssa alive in you, and remember to keep those around you everyday close, live everyday with them. Prayers are with you sweetie…. HUGS!
There is nothing in the world that can ever prepare you for the loss of a child, a friend, a daughter. My heart will be with you, and my prayers to God for strength to help you live through the pain you are feeling.
It’s so sad to see young people die , it’s not the natural cycle of life and that makes it is so incredibly hard to acccept.
I hope you find teachers and guidance counselors to talk to, to help you through this time. You will ache for several months if not yrs, so surround yourself with family, supportive friends and people to help you through this.
Remember her in life.I pray for peace and comfort for you and her family.
Life is fragile and uncertain at times. Only God has the whole picture. I pray for your loss and the time your family needs to adjust to this. It is a hard thread to pick up and weave into your fabric. Allow yourself the time to grieve, be angry, sad, proud of your dtr and friend. I hope the service is a celebration of her life and your commitment that her presence will always be there for you. May you find blessings today and always.
While we cannot take your pain away, know that you are not alone as you make this journey. We, and many others, are with you…
Many prayers for Alyssa’s family and friends. May they be comforted during this shocking time of loss. May they hold on to each other and share their memories of Alyssa, not only with tears but with smiles, laughter, and joy.
Emily, how sad it is too lose a friend. I can’t imagine losing one of my friends and the way your heart must hurt. I know Alyssa will be with you always, watching out for you as a special angel. She would want you to live life to the fullest. Keep her always in your heart. All of you are in my prayers, Big hugs to you. :Jayne
Emily – I will keep you and your friends in my prayers. Keep your memories of Alyssa close, and let them heal your heart.
My heart aches for you Emily. I know your heart longs for your friend. There are no words at all to make this sadness lessen for you right now. It is an emptiness beyond any other. Know that others are holding you up in prayer. Prayers for you, your family and your friends family. You will always have your friend in your heart and soul, hold on to that and embrace it. Talk about her to anyone who will listen. Remember her friendship and how important she will always be to you. And mostly important, remember to tell your other friends that they are important to you also and that you love them.
I dont say this lightly, but one day you will be able to smile and laugh again. It has been 5 years since my best friend died suddenly. And I felt for a very long time that I would never ever be happy again. But I am. I still miss her terribly, but I know she loved me enough that she would want me to be happy. So I celebrate our friendship every chance I get. I hope you can do that for your friend too.
