Michael and I are still in Lake Havasu. We planned to leave after the races yesterday but found that our electrical cable from the motorhome to our tow-car was missing. Since it was late Sunday nothing was open to buy a new one. So we stayed another night and planned to get one first thing this morning and head home. Well, last night the wind came up like I have never seen before. We honestly thought the roof was going to blow off the motorhome last night. We were awake all night. The wind has continued all day with wind warnings in effect so we will be spending another night in Lake Havasu. I can’t complain though as it is really pretty here in the desert, we have satellite TV and plenty to eat. The RV park manager says the winds are supposed to die down tonight so hopefully we’ll be on our way tomorrow. In the meantime, we bought a new cable for the tail lights, visited a nice state park right on the lake and had an early dinner. Here are pics of the state park and a cactus in bloom.
Hang on Andrea, Emily, Amanda, Banning, Aidan, Donovan, Martha, Judy, Lucy, Ethel, Aunt Bee, Oprah, Gayle, Thelma, and Louise. We’ll be home soon. In the meantime, a peanut and raisin rationing program shall be in effect.
Late Night Update…
Donovan does something that has scared the bejesus out of me twice and Michael once. I forgot to tell Andrea and the girls about it and he did it again this morning, scarring Andrea half to death. What he does is fall into a deep sleep. You have to shake him to wake him up. The scary part is that he appears as if he is dead. He has done it once on the picnic table and once on the sleeping shelf. His head is always hung down, his eyes closed and he is stiff. We actually thought he was dead the first time and I went over and hugged him to say goodbye and he woke up!
Well, this morning Andrea and Emily went into the yard and the goats were sleeping in a pile on the steps. Emily went over to feed them. Banning and Aidan got up and walked toward Emily but Andrea looked over and saw Donovan with his head hanging off the step, eyes closed, and rigor mortis stiff legs. She said she yelled at Emily to stop so that she wouldn’t find him dead. Then Andrea carefully went over, thinking “How am I going to call my Mom and tell her Donovan is dead?” She said she called his name out twice and just like the other times he woke up, groggy and slow like he had been out drinking last night! She said she gave him a stern lecture about scaring her to death.
Michael and I laughed our heads off about it but I really know how scary it is having been through it myself. A lady on the Yahoo Goats Tricks forum is trying to teach her goats to play dead. We are so ahead of the curve. Now if he could do it on cue….well, that would be another story!
We’ll be home soon!

Dead Goat Tricks are not Funny at 6:45am
It’s nice to hear you and Micheal get a good laugh out of the dead goat trick. At least I can now laugh about it now too but it really wasnt funny at 6:45am. The leason learned during this trip is to make sure I get full details on all of the new goat tricks prior to walking in on them. If I told 100 people you have goats that high five, climb trees and play dead how many do you think would believe I need to be commited. My guess would be a least 90 of them. The chickens had a very productive time while you were gone we got just over 3 dozen eggs this week. I am glad you had a good trip and Emily and Amanda are happy you’re on your way home. They miss you. Drive safe see you when you get home. Love you.
