We are traveling down to Lake Havasu, AZ for the World Off Road Racing Championship (WORCS) ATV race this weekend. ( orry, race pictures were lost)
We have the motorhome and we are towing the Hummer and Michael’s dirt bike.
Unfortunately for them, the monarch butterflies are in the midst of their westerly migration through California’s central valley. The average lifespan for these beautiful butterflies is 6 weeks, except for the hundreds of them that managed to hit the front of our motorhome.
Here is my view from the passenger seat. Nice, huh?
Here Michael is getting a well deserved stretch at a rest stop.
Here’s a close up view of the monarchs. Yuk!
But we arrived safely in Lake Havasu with time to wash the rig before coming to the racetrack.
Here’s my view tonight. Much better, don’t ya think? I’ll post this weekend as time and internet access allows. Emily reports collecting seven eggs on our second day away. Not bad from seven hens! They are just showing off.

You Know Who,
We never saw any whole butterflies. It’s hard at sixty white-knuckled miles an hour with my eyes closed. I did see half a butterfly on the ground at a rest stop but Michael was in a hurry to get moving so I decided not to get out the camera. It sounds like Mr. You Know Who might be getting a dozen eggs every Friday after all, especially after Thelma and Louise get bigger.
Thanks for reading my blog. I’ll say Hi to the fam for you.
Love,
Mary

Animal update
Amanda is home from her trip and very tired. She used three cameras we will get developed in the morning. She had a great time. She was happy to see the animals today. She was upset the hear Emily was the one to collect the 7 eggs. But low and behold guess how many she got today, another 7. I think the girls knew she was coming home. The goats were happy to see her but poor Aidan got a hug he was not expecting. So we are up to a total of 17 eggs, a few ounces of goat slobber but no goats prints on my shirt when I go to work in the morning. We love the pic of the sunset hope Buddy does well. Tell Mark, DeeDee and Buddy we love and miss them. If you give Buddy a kiss for me I can try and talk Mandy into giveing the goats a kiss for you. Be safe getting home Mom and have fun. Love you.
