We got home from southern California on Monday. I won’t bore anyone with the details but I have been in bed or my recliner for 6 days with bursitis in my hip. My doctor thinks it is probably from bouncing 400 miles up Hwy 99 in the motorhome. I sure hope Arnold uses some of the stimulus funds to fix our roads! We can always tell when we are back in CA because of the potholes and cracked concrete. After my diagnosis, I remembered sitting at a truck stop and noticing all the truck drivers were limping. I am too now!
Anyway, I have been out of the recliner more today and able to sit at my computer so I updated my blog with posts about the races.
The animals were well cared for while we were gone but I could tell they missed us. Lately they have started chewing on our clothes so I decided to try to find something else to interest them. I cut strips of upholstery fabric and hung them from the oak tree for them to chew on.
Banning got it…
Donovan got it…
Aidan’s try ended in a head butting contest so……
He just joined Michael for a coffee and let the two of them fight it out.
They eventually made up.
I can’t even explain this.
Everyone ended up with treats and a nap.
Then Michael started playing his drums so I headed out to the feed store. Imagine my shock when I found out it was baby Chick Day and these two somehow ended up in my car!
Meet Thelma and Louise. They are two week old Ameracuanas. How did they know Amanda and I had been wanting some Americuanas for a long time? They are now residing happily in our downstairs bathroom under a heat lamp. Thelma is mean. She picks on Louise a lot.
She is not the only chicken to cop an attitude today though. Martha Stewart decided she was too important to lay her eggs in the nesting boxes like the other chickens. So she made herself a nest in the goat feeder, much to Donovan’s dismay.
“I am trying to eat here.”
I removed her from the feeder and placed her in the nesting box in the chicken coop. She protested loudly, hopped out and went back to the feeder. Nobody listens to me.

I’m so glad to hear you’re feeling a little better!
If traveling bad roads hurt, PLEASE DO NOT EVER come to Michigan!! Now she wants to raise our gas taxes to repair roads! Michigan has the highest gas taxes in the whole country, and now she’s worried about our roads!! OH!! That’s just a whole nother subject! LOL!
I’ve missed photos of the B.A.D. goats and chickens! I’m always amazed of my dogs and how they are so human like, but I don’t think it matters what pet a person has, they become our children and all human characteristics come out!
Hope the bursitis takes a kick and you get back to feeling like your old (not OLD) self again!
