It is time again for Scavenger Hunt Sunday where photography buffs are given five words or phrases and submit a photographic interpretation of each item. This week’s were:
- 1. Autumn
- 2. Leaves
- 3. Boots
- 4. Hot Beverage
- 5. Game
I haven’t had time to join in the last couple of Scavenger Hunts and knew I probably wouldn’t this week either. I woke up this morning stressed and overwhelmed by life and the recent global insanity. I couldn’t seem to get the images that have played over and over this week, out of my head. I felt helpless and ungrounded. I decided to grab my car keys and camera and head out alone to clear my mind. I spent the next two and a half hours driving around in the country looking for photographic inspiration. A lot of scenes inspired me but, without a safe place to pull over, I just had to enjoy them as a saw them. Once I stopped stressing over missing a good shot, I relaxed and enjoyed the morning.
I drove what amounted to a huge circle around my house, with my last stop at the Pumpkin Patch I have driven past for four years without ever stopping. Today I stopped. I met a local wood worker and we talked chickens for the longest time. I met the man who owns the pumpkin patch. He saw me struggling to decide whether to drop my $4,000.00 camera or the $10.00 pumpkin I’d just purchased. He grabbed the pumpkin and we were good. It was fun.
I made it home safely home with my pumpkin and my images, made a cup of coffee, and worked on my Scavenger Hunt Sunday submissions. I’ll get back to the real world tomorrow.
Here are my submissions for this week. Please follow the link at the bottom of the page to see what the other submitted. In fact, grab your camera and join us next week!
