My policy regarding selfies is I don’t take them and I won’t be buying Kim Kardashian’s coffee table book of 375 selfies titled Selfish. I had to make an exception this morning. No, I’m not buying the book, I took a selfie.
Recently I had my hair cut shorter and have been struggling with styling it. I found a product, Casual Sea Salt Texturizing Spray, which is basically salt water that you spray on dry hair to give it texture and body. I washed my hair yesterday, dried and styled it, finishing off with the spray for the “tousled” look. It looked so good that Michael invited me out for breakfast in town. 🙂 We call these outings “dates” and they are usually paired with a visit to Home Deport or the feed store. Because he is a hopeless romantic and my hair looked so good, Michael headed to Dennys.
We got there to find it closed and shuttered, signs down, a chain and padlock on the front door. This date was in jeopardy. Michael took one look at me and headed straight to McDonalds. They had stopped selling breakfast seven minutes before we arrived but they managed to pull a couple of old egg McMuffins out of the trash for us. The food was nasty but I had the best hair at the drive thru! We finished the date with a visit to the public health clinic so Michael could have his TB test checked to get his clearance for teaching. Now that’s what I call a date! The only thing that would have made this date better was if we’d had a load of trash to drop off at the dump! Gotta’ love the country life!
This morning I woke up and headed out early to feed the animals as I do every day. Getting them fed before they wake up the neighbors is my number one priority. Luckily I caught my reflection in the mirror before I got out the door.
I never take selfies, but this was just too good to pass up. I grabbed my iPad to capture the moment. This is what happens when you sleep on your back with salt tousled hair. 🙂
Our mammoth donkey Jack is afraid of everything. I can’t even wear a hoodie when it’s raining because that scares him. This would have sent him over the edge! Worse yet, cars line the road alongside our fence every weekday morning with kids waiting for the school bus. I could have terrorized kindergartners on the first day of school.
I just re-tousled my hair with my fingers and I was good to go without causing panic in the streets. I like this product. I am buying more. If you would like a chance to win a bottle of Toni&Guy Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray, ( 6.8 Fluid Ounce) just leave me a comment. I will choose one winner at random on Sunday, August 31 at 5:00 p.m. PST. I will notify the winner by email. If there is no response within 24 hours, I will choose another winner. If no one leaves a comment I’ll just buy another bottle for myself.
Comments needn’t be fancy, maybe, “Hey I don’t read your blog, I’m just here for the prize.” Or, “What the hell is wrong with your eyebrows?” Or perhaps, “Does your iPad have flash or do you really need to get some sun?” One entry per person please. Good luck! Very soon our hair could look just like this mine!
Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post. I bought the product for myself and will buy one for the winner. I am sure Tony&Guy wouldn’t have it any other way!
AND THE WINNER IS! Judy E., chosen by random.org from the six comments that weren’t left by me! Congrats Judy!
What was it about your article that I found oh so relatable? Oh yeah it was the part about taking trash to the dump!! Hope ya’ll had a wonderful date! Sounded like you did!!
That’s funny!
Please don’t tell me there’s really a Kim Kardashian selfie book…. and this post had me LOLing. From the date mishaps to the poor Donkey. Bless his heart.
Oh yes there is! With 375 of her “favorite” selfies. It is supposed to be a large coffee table book out just in time for Christmas! Ew.
We all have bad hair days. Me more than most and that’s why I would never be brave enough to post a selfie of myself! So congrats for being brave! LOL.
At least the “date” wasn’t a total lost. 😉 It’s always exciting when you find a good hair product. I used ot have looooong hair then have had it very short for the past 8 years. Now I’m growing it out again and trying so hard to not cut it off again. 😛
Hi Sashi! I had really long hair too but it just got to be too much. Good Luck!
Mary, you always crack me up!!! I love your sense of humor!
Thanks Robin!
