My old, reliable Prius was beginning to show her age. She still got great gas mileage, but the dented passenger side and worn cloth seats just weren’t working for me anymore. I researched and considered buying another Prius, but in the end I fell in love with a 2012 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. We bought the car three days ago and I just love it. This morning I decided to load Tucker in his doggie car seat, grab my camera and head out for a ride to see the Fall foliage. lydiamaus96 molly family album We live around the corner from Darkhorse Country Club, one of the premier golf courses in California. Grandson Buddy spent more time there than here on his last visit. I decided to drive up that direction and see how the car handled on the hills and turns. Michael had uploaded some of my music CD’s to the car’s built-in Jukebox system. So, I asked the computer to play Andrea Bocelli and off we went.
We stopped along the golf course and I took a few pictures of the car.
Then we drove around the residential area of the country club. It was built just before the housing bust and many homes went into foreclosure it is coming back though with lots of for sale signs. This cul-de-sac and a sign on every lot.
This was the first house built and owned by the guy who plowed into our mailbox with his truck recently while trying to reach his cell phone to take a call. He lives here in the Ranchos now, on the same street we live on. BTW our mailbox was knocked down a second time and hit another three times. That is five times in 3 months! Anyway, back to the tour.
This house has a small vineyard.
The Fall colors were so pretty in the morning light.
There is a new house being built on this lot. It has a fantastic view.
This squirrel was lucky to get across the road in time.
We came across a spot where a deer had been hit and the carcass was off the road in the ditch. RIP little deer. There were a couple of dozen turkey vultures feeding off the remains.
We proceeded on our way, winding through the empty residential area, watching the golfers. I was wishing Buddy was here.
The lure of Starbucks coffee sent us heading back towards home. We had to pass it on our way to get coffee.
I wouldn’t trade this old house for any of those country club houses. We got our coffee and came home.

Great pics of your beautiful countryside! And thanks for buying American…
Love the car, and especially the color!
