Despite my “lending specialist’s” best efforts to derail us, we closed and recorded the sale for the new property yesterday! Amazing feat, to say the least. Two of my favorite 11th hour bombs included the need to re-write the insurance binder and email it 25 minutes before the FedEx deadline and requiring confirmation that my 50% down payment was received by the title company before documents were signed and wiring instructions received! My realtor, insurance agent nor escrow officer have ever seen a deal this messed up. The fear and apprehension of the last two days was almost unbearable. My sizable deposit plus thousands in inspections and repairs would evaporate were we to miss the deadline. At 4:00 p.m. yesterday we received the call confirming the recording. We lost two days of packing time scrambling to pull rabbits out of a hat at the last minute, so we are rushing tonight to be ready for the movers in the morning.
We were at the new house today having the chicken coops placed and phone and internet installed. Not satellite internet, high speed internet via cable! My granddaughter and I came home to resume packing while Michael waited for Suddenlink and ATt&T . Michael came home later, laptop in hand, sobbing because he downloaded 2 gigabytes in five minutes. With HughesNet, it would have taken five weeks and hundreds of dollars in tokens to buy our way out of download allowance overages. Life is good. I can begin blogging again without the dreaded blue question marks!
Here’s a sneak peak of the view from the front porch. I’ll be back soon with enough pictures and videos to run y’all off!

Oh Kristin, mayhem is already in full swing. Goats escaping, donkeys escaping, emus pecking my head till bloody. You know, all the normal stuff. I am glad you guys are still here! I love high speed internet!
