Vala W says
That just has to be the coolest chick-accessory on the market, so sleek! And it is very Scandinavian minimalist looking, perfect for Icees ๐ I have no brooder box yet, my three Hlรฉsey pullets are due to start laying next month so I would so absolutely love to have this, the girls would go broody in no-time just to get to move in…
Sandra Hughes says
Wow! That is so cool. Now we will never know which came first, the chicken or the egg. And made of recycled materials. Just like the stuff we get from our chickens.
Candace Waldon says
OMG that is soo cute! I had to Google “pEi Pod bed”! My girls would just love one of these. It’s much cuter than the covered kitty litter box they’re brooding in now.
Teresa says
I just love it. Soo cute!!

Lukka looks so at home in it and I’ll bet she’ll peck me if I try and take it from her. I am going to enter to win anyway and you can send it when she is done with it. LOL!

Happy Days! I am thrilled and honored to have been chosen to received the
charming and practical pEi Pod egg nest! By this time next week it should be
occupied by 15 chicks hatched April 1st & 2nd along with my part Cochin foster
mom, Speedy. Thank you thank you thank you!
Connie says
This is so cute-and if one of my chickens ever goes broody, I would love to order some Icelandic eggs for her. One of my Easter Eggers likes to sit in the nest box for hours with a very contented look on her face. I hope that’s a good sign.
Michelle says
How cute is that! It’s perfect for a broody.
Johnathan Bullard says
I would love that for our girls. A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E. Consider us entered :)<3!
Kate B says
Love it! I’ve seen in advertised for cats – it is so obviously better for a chicken!
Isabella B says
Not only is this the best broodie bed ever, it creates the best background for the photos of your hen and chicks to share on the web or even to created personal pictures when displayed on your wall. The egg being the most appropiate bed ever as well as the most unusual.
Crystal D says
Would love this and would love some broodies too!
Ruth S says
I love this. I need this.. Please and Thank you
Cynthia B. says
Mary, it’s really the perfect size and must be so easy to clean when needed! Excellent use of a dog/cat pet bed! Why on earth would anyone think of using an egg for a bed for a dog anyway, LOL? Very cool for a broody mama, though.
LauraP says
It’s the perfect broody egg for the perfect broody hen. ๐
Tammy says
This is the cutest thing I have ever saw. I love the amount of room it gives the hen, and when the babies hatch they will not be over crowded. Great Idea and very nice of you to use one as a give-a-way.
Ben says
Wow! Thanks for such a generous giveaway! The only thing that could make this giveaway any better is if Lukka came with the broody box, as it appears that she is ( once again) unwilling to leave it! Jokes aside, I wish everyone good luck!
Danielle says
OMG, so cute! I would love to put a broody in there!
Brett says
That is way better for chickens who would market that for cats & dogs
Sharon says
Love The Broody House Mary! I Must Have One! For Small Dogs And Cats, No Way! My Broody Hens Would Chase Them Out In An Instant. What A Great Little Egg Shaped Bed For All Broody Hens Such As My Spiker, And Your Lukka. Very Cute Idea Indeed.

Mary Ann Bittle says
This is so completely cute! I so hope one of my young hens decides to go broody soon… *sigh*
Melissa Heigl says
This is a lovely idea for a broody box. I am not the lucky type, but I’d love to have a chance to win it! I have a little silkie hen that refuses to lay her eggs in the yard. She will only lay eggs in her dog crate. I have to carry her to it (it’s quite high up!) every day, or she’ll cross her legs and try to wait me out. I bet she’d get a kick out of that egg-shaped nesting box.
Beth Stewart says
A friend of mine is hatching Iclandic’s and I never heard of them before. So I did a search and found you & the adorable LUKKA! What a beautiful hen. And I’m in LOVE with this Broody Egg Bed! I know if I won this Egg Bed I would soon be searching for more to purchase for sure. We have a bunch of rescued ducks & chickens here. But it’s the Silkie’s who go broody…and of course they have the newest and best coop in the yard.(3 big coops so far) So this would be perfect for them!!! And future Icelandic’s too!!! Thank you for the wonderful pictures of your beautiful birds. Plus this exciting chance for a very interesting and unique brooder. I appreciate it! Yours Truly, Beth
Tonya Taber says
The makers were not thinking when they said for a dog or a cat. It is perfect for a broody. Lukka looks lovely in it too.
jane says
There is something magical about the shape of an egg. I loved it before I even realized that the shape I loved was that of an egg. Old American whiskey jugs were called ovoid. My parents have quite a collection in graduated sizes. My SW Indian pots w/ a high shoulder are standing eggs on end. Maybe the shape of a pregnant woman’s belly is an egg, head down? So one can only smile when you look at this broody box. My silliest broody house is a used French oak wine barrel. It lays on its side, w/ a “porthole” door and “porthole” access on the end for food and water. I can hardly wait for this snow to melt to put Marvel, the mottled Cochin banty hen in, with her Swedish Flower Hen eggs. Not quite ovoid but close enough. Love your fine birds! Jane

Mary, This is such a great idea!! You should contact the company/manufacturer and get a commission on all of these that sell from the time you posted this!! …and sell them your marketing idea!!
My hens would look so much nicer in this than in the covered cat litter box that is now the broody nest!
Shawn says
Very cool Mary!! I thought I had my first broody yesterday of the year but she wasn’t on today…thought I had one for the chicks hatching this weekend… guess not.. On a bright note.. I think all my icelandics are now laying. The two youngest just started laying this week.. WOOT!!
Mike says
That’s a very creative use of a pet bed. It’s rather funny, a hen sitting on eggs, inside of an egg, very creative.
LadyHawk says
Oh goodness…it comes in pink and mint green also…99.00 at wag.com

Smokey our Icelandic successfully hatched four pure chicks of her own. She could have done it in style if only she had a brooder nest like this one….Too Cute!!

LadyHawk says
Mary, that is the most adorable thing I have seen in a long time. I would use it for a broody box for sure, no way the cat or 10 lb menace would get that. Perfect for the broody Mrs. Fluffy (daughter’s white silkie).
Oh and BTW…Kathy loves her Emus, they are precious indeed.
