Today the San Francisco 49er’s took on the New Orleans Saints in the first game if the NFC playoffs. Normally, this would not faze me but, it was the San Francisco 49er’s, the closest thing we have to a home team. Forty Niner Fever had swept the town and I got pulled right in. This is the first time the Niners have been in the playoffs since 2003 and the fans are rabid for the win. I have a love/hate relationship with football going back 45 years, but always leaning much closer to hate than love. In the last decade I have watched a Superbowl or two mainly as an excuse to eat football food. Today I actually enjoyed the game, despite the nail biting tension culminating in a 49’er win! I cooked pulled pork, planning to team it up with coleslaw and homemade fries. Unfortunately, I filled up on Buffalo Chicken Wings so the pulled pork and sides will be served tomorrow. I also made bread pudding which I am certain I will be able force myself to try. My Buffalo wings are simply deep fried, tossed in melted butter, followed by Frank’s Red Hot Buffalo Sauce. So good I think I will plan to watch the Superbowl this year with or without the Forty Niners!

OMG you watched a football game. Mandy said she didn't even think you knew football was a sport. She was bummed out she missed the game heard it was the best 49er game in a long time. I didn't really care but now that you bring up those wings I may just have to watch a game or two before its over.
