Emu Egg “B” (Update Day 44 of 51)

January 4, 2012

My emu baby is still alive and kicking. I have been taking the egg out of the incubator and tapping on it with a metal rod and talking to it as suggested. It responds to the tapping and talking. Tonight I asked Michael to whistle the tune our emus used to whistle when they were babies. They still runs and dance like crazy every time Michael whistles that tune. He whistled it to the egg and just look what happened.

In as little as five days this baby could hatch!  Please check back soon and keep for fingers crossed for the little GIRL!

Her name is "B," I see. hahaha. Reminds me of a story….. In nursing school I had (an illiterate) postpartum patient that looked at the sign on her new baby's crib. It said FEMALE. All excited, she said, "Awww, look, they named my baby for me!" Then she pronounced it…… Say tamale except with an F instead of the T. *still giggling*
