I have three roosters amongst my Icelandic flock. Isi (pronounced Icy) is the flock leader, top dog, man in charge, big daddy. Second in command is a young roo I call Pretty Boy. He is stunning in appearance and has a funny high pitched crow. Third is Little Man a little beautifully colored rooster who rarely crows. His crow is very similar to Isis’s but less mature. Isi and pretty Boy have a crowing contest every morning and I caught it on video today. I think the best part is Isi’s preparation for crowing especially shaking his tail feathers.
Someday when we have unrestricted land, these boys will be my alarm clock to get to work!
