I went out this morning to feed the chickens and goats. Everything seemed fine except Lucy was waddling around the yard squawking her head off. She usually quiets down when I call her name but not today. “Bawk, bawk, bawk!” Non-stop. I gathered two eggs in the henhouse, fed the animals and returned back inside for my coffee. Lucy continued pacing, clucking, and squawking.
I got my camera and went outside to shoot some pictures in the garden. Afterwards I went to the fence and shot some pictures of the animals. Lucy was still carrying on despite my efforts to quiet her down.
I sat down on the ground outside the fence and Aidan came and had a talk with me.

Lucy was always full of surprises and made us laugh or cry everyday. She was capable of miracles and mayhem. I miss her dear soul.

That egg is HUGE! No wonder she was having a fit – she wanted everyone to see what she had done! And then to actually see it in the picture, I had to chuckle!

OH MY …… How did she lay that thing

Lucy certainly earned every last squawk, didn’t she? Bless her heart! How much does that thing weigh? AFter the fact, you probably have a much clearer understanding of just how those squawks would translate into English. Most of it was probably not too flattering!
