Chica and Loca are growing so fast. We have been letting them have supervised visits outside with Stuart and Louis. Maybe it is wishful thinking but they appear to have picked their partner. Loca seems to hang close to Stuart and Chica seems smitten with Louis. If they stay this way, we will have crazy with hyper and mellow with lovable. Works for me! Right now the girls hang out more with Louis who has taken on a very nurturing roll. He shows them how to eat grass, where to find water, etc., while Stuart just wants to chase them and pull the feathers out of their heads. Today was the first day I let them out to be on their own. I checked on them frequently and they had a very good day of freedom from the emu shelter. They explored the property, ate grass and bugs, and napped in the sun.
