Lukka is raising her Barnevelder babies in the Isbar coop. She is a fiercely protective Mom as always. This morning I put out some Asian noodles and scraps of fried tempura batter. Lukka kept a dozen other chickens at bay until her babies had eaten. She did allow Bjorn close enough to display his rooster manners by offering the treats to the babies and Frida and Anna without eating them himself. I just love Bjorn. He is going to be a great flock leader. Here’s a litttle video.

Bjorn is lookin' all grown up now! Mama Lukka is always so happy with babies, isn't she?! She and her chicks seem to be quite content in the Isbar pen. They all look great!
