The King Fire has raged in our neck of the woods for nearly two weeks. The smoke has created air quality of the worst extreme for us, forcing us indoors much of the time. Yesterday was the worst and I ventured out only to care for the farm animals. When I fed the animals in the morning I took a quick photo of the sun rising through the smoke, otherwise I stayed in all day.
Out of sheer boredom, I opened the smokey sunrise picture in Photoshop Elements 12 and applied every single filter and effect in the library to the image. It took me all morning, first applying the filter/effect, then renaming and saving the picture. I edited all of the nearly 100 images in bulk, for size and quality, then added a watermark. Some were so similar that I could barely tell the difference. I finally settled on my 40 favorites and created a little slide show. If you hover over the thumbnails you can see which filter or effect was applied. Photoshop Elements is a fun program to play around with is a little less daunting than the full version of Photoshop. I couldn’t blog without it and it certainly gave me a diversion from yesterday from the forest fire cabin fever that had set in.
