This afternoon I went out to the yard to collect eggs from the chicken coops. There were two new mounds of dirt made by gophers. One was drying already but the second was moist.
As Tucker and I walked by, this stuck its head out!
OMG, I just about had a heart attack! Thank goodness Tucker didn’t see it and I was able to get him back to the house. Then morbid curiosity got the better of me, and I went out with my video camera. Then we threw out some chicken feed and chewing gum and set up the game camera. Chewing gum is supposed to “eliminate” a gopher. Of course they need to ingest it first. All I can say is there must be a better way of getting rid of crabgrass.
I probably won’t sleep tonight. I think we should move.
