I sneaked out by myself this afternoon to enjoy a little shopping on this, Small Business Shopping Day. Merchants set out cookies, cider, hot chocolate, coffee, and popcorn, as well as friendly words of appreciation for shoppers. Of note, the pumpkin chocolate chip cookies at The Nest were the bomb!
Here’s what I bought.
At a second-hand/consignment store I bought a vintage jar to store Tucker’s dog cookies. I love the patina of the lid.
At a little boutique I bought a knitted headband for cold weather morning animal chores.
At an antique junk store, not judging here, that is what the sign says, I bought a great old table for my foyer. It needs a little work but it will be perfect for the space.
My negotiating skills nested me this cute print of a girl feeding the livestock. I love it!
I was most excited about finding these glass chicken Christmas ornaments at a local furniture/home accessory store. Aren’t they just sweet! The barred rock is my favorite.
The rooster was a little more expensive than the hens because he is hand blown glass. Go figure.
They look small but they are actually quite large.
My last stop was for a few groceries at the local Mexican Market and a northern California owned grocery store.
How did you spend Small Business Shopping Day?
