This morning I went out to feed the animals at 7:00 a.m. I thought it strange that none of the chickens were out in the runs. As I started to enter the emu pasture, I heard a commotion. The emus were running around at the fence line between their pasture and the chicken runs. Then I saw it! A Cooper’s hawk was flying around inside the covered chicken runs! I dropped the food buckets and ran into the house, up the stairs, woke Michael up, ran back down the stairs, grabbed my camera, and ran back out side. I tell you all this because I want to explain my breathing in the video. As Michael entered run #5, the hawk flew up to the top of the fence and under the net to the other side where my secret project babies were out in the run. I went a little psycho at that point but I did manage to get a little video of the action.
