When goats come calling.

November 29, 2011

I looked out my office window today and saw this:

And this:

This is the donkey equivalent of the Robert DeNiro to Ben Stiller eye pointing from the movie Meet the Fockers. It is intended to tell an intruder “I am watching you.”

I decided to see what was going on and saw this:

It was our neighbor Raphael’s goat paying us a visit.

Hello Raphael’s goat. I have visited with this goat over the fence but this is the first time he has come calling. Shortly after we bought them, our donkeys made an unscheduled visit to Raphael’s house in the middle of the night. He retrieved them and returned them without even waking us up. So the neighborly thing to do was to wake Michael up and ask him to help get Raphael’s goat home.

Hello Raphael’s goat.

“Wanna fight?”

Raphael’s goat finally realized that he was going home, one way or another, and Michael was able to rope him.

Against his will, Raphael’s goat was dragged up our driveway on his way home.

He was then dragged up his driveway on his way home.

Eventually he was let back into his pasture through the open gate he probably left from.

Once through the gate, he forgot us completely, running like the wind to his own people.

When told of his goat’s escape, Raphael suggested that should it happen again, we could just eat him. Eat him? Are you kidding me? We could build him a shelter and buy him his own XXL Dogloo!

The excitement over, Jack and Diana were thanked for their faithful service.

I miss that goat already.

The Diva is NOT fat! She may be a bit fluffy, but not at all fat! Besides that, she is big boned.

What? No treat for the guards? Slave driver, aren't ya? Poor Diva works all day long assuring the perimeter is safe, poses for Vogue, and keeps Jack in line, too. She deserves a cookie at the very least!
